SunTrust Appoints Head of Treasury Management Product Management

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced today that Nicholas Alex, who has over 20 years of experience in product and business development in payment and treasury services, has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Treasury Management Product Management. Mr. Alex will oversee both treasury and commercial card product development and management for SunTrust, reporting to David Fuller, Senior Vice President, Treasury Management Services.

"Nick brings a tremendous wealth of treasury and payment product expertise to SunTrust and underscores our commitment to helping clients meet the increasingly complex challenges related to the changing payment landscape," said Mr. Fuller. "His focus will be on developing and executing solutions that address the challenges faced by clients of all sizes, including complexity of payments, time and resource constraints, need for operational controls, as well as competitive demands."

Prior to joining SunTrust, Mr. Alex spent 20 years at Bank of America and NationsBank, where he helped lead the Global Treasury Services unit in the areas of business and product development. He previously worked in sales and operations for Riggs National Bank and Wachovia Bank, respectively. Mr. Alex is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Six Sigma certified, and a member of the AFP Payments Advisory Group and SWIFT Global Payments Committee. He holds a B.A. in Finance from Virginia Tech, and completed graduate MBA work at both George Washington University and the University of Miami.
